For Home Buyers

Buying a home, thoughtfully.

Guidance for buyers across Northville, Novi, South Lyon, Plymouth, Brighton, and the surrounding Metro Detroit communities. Honest answers, thoughtful strategy, and guidance rooted in a simple principle: treat people the way you would want your own family treated.

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions most people will ever make. It should not feel rushed, and it should not feel like a sales process. My approach is guided by a simple belief: treat people the way you would want to be treated. That means clear answers, honest advice, and steady support from start to finish.

Before real estate, I was a firefighter and EMT.

That work taught me how to stay calm in uncertain moments and how to put the person in front of me first. Those habits still shape the way I work with buyers and sellers today.

A home purchase or sale is rarely just about the house. It is often tied to a new job, a growing family, a move across the state or country, a parent who needs support, or a life that has changed in some meaningful way. I listen first, and I move at the pace the situation calls for.

I began my real estate career in Northville in 2000. Since then, I have closed more than 1,300 transactions and earned recognition among the top 1% of Michigan agents. What matters even more to me is that roughly three out of every four clients I serve come from referrals. People I have worked with send their friends and family, and that trust is the foundation I continue to build on.

I grew up in Novi, graduated from Novi High School, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and have raised my own family here. As a lifelong area resident, I know these communities not just from the real estate market, but from living in them, raising a family in them, and staying deeply connected to the people and places that make them home.

What working together looks like.

I

The first conversation

Most buyers start with questions before they are ready to look at homes. We will talk through what you are considering, where you are in the process, and what would make a home feel right. There is no pressure to move faster than you are ready to move.

II

Financing and preparation

If you have not already spoken with a lender, I can introduce you to trusted local professionals. Understanding what you can comfortably afford, and what your monthly picture will actually look like, comes before choosing homes to tour.

III

The search and showings

Once we know what you are looking for, I set up a tailored search and schedule showings at a pace that works for you. I share honest observations about every home we see, including the things that give me pause. My job is to help you notice what you might otherwise miss.

IV

Writing the offer

When you find the right home, we will discuss pricing, contingencies, timing, and the specific terms that protect you. Strong negotiation is less about aggression and more about preparation, market data, and clear communication with the other side.

V

Inspection, appraisal, and closing

Between accepted offer and closing there are several moving pieces. I will guide you through each one and advocate for your interests if something unexpected comes up during inspection, appraisal, title work, or the lender review.

VI

After closing

Our relationship does not end when you receive the keys. I remain a resource for contractor recommendations, future market questions, and anything else you may need as a homeowner. The referrals that built my business started with that kind of continued relationship.

The things worth asking before you start.

Do I pay for your services as a buyer?

Buyer representation compensation has evolved in recent years, and the answer depends on your specific transaction. I will walk you through exactly how it works before you sign anything, so there are no surprises at any point in the process.

How long does the home buying process take?

From first conversation to closing, most buyers I work with take anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the market and your personal timeline. I do not rush the process, and I do not slow it down unnecessarily.

What if I am not ready to buy for six months or a year?

That is perfectly normal. Some of my best buyer relationships begin a year or more before the actual purchase. Early conversations help us both get prepared, and there is no cost or obligation to talking things through.

Do you work with first-time buyers?

Yes. I genuinely enjoy helping first-time buyers because there is real learning involved, and I take the time to explain each step clearly. Nothing about the process should feel like insider language you are expected to already know.

Do you work with buyers relocating from out of state?

Yes. My team and I assist relocating buyers regularly, including those moving to the area for work, family, or retirement. Many of our out-of-state buyers begin the process with video tours before ever flying in.

What makes you different from other agents?

The most honest answer is the way I communicate. I do not pressure, I do not oversell, and I tell buyers what I would tell a family member looking at the same home. Twenty-six years in this market has taught me that the right decision rarely comes from urgency.

You will not be handed off.

I work alongside two people who share my standards for how clients are treated. Between the three of us, you receive consistent attention and quick responses without losing the personal relationship that a single-agent practice would offer.
